This year’s mentoring program offers a selection of five topics designed to boost your professional competencies and interpersonal abilities. These topics were carefully chosen based on demand and enriched by feedback from our previous Mentees. We have identified the key competencies at the heart of each topic, which will serve as a solid foundation for you and your Mentor to work on over the six sessions and accelerate your professional growth and development.

Career Planning

Target Audience:

Entry to Intermediate Level Professional Services (eg. Consultants, Lawyers, Engineers, Accountants) with 0 – 10 years of experience


Description:
At certain points in our career journey, we all ask the question “what next?” However, the pathway to a successful career is not always clearly defined, because everyone’s journey is different. There are some key elements to navigating your career journey and our mentors have successfully navigated their own unique career paths and through the insights they have gained along the way, they will be able to help you move forward on your own career journey with confidence.

Public speaking/effective communication

Target Audience:

Description:
Our ability to communicate impacts every aspect of our lives. The ability to communicate effectively with others is often what sets the greatest leaders apart from the rest of the crowd. However, it is a misconception that some people are just better communicators than others. Our mentors believe that communication is a critical soft skill
which can be nurtured and developed overtime and through practice. They will teach you how to communicate with the intention of building connection and trust, and ultimately being able to influence others.

Stakeholder Management

Description:
Stakeholder management skills are essential for anyone wanting to move ahead in their career. As you climb the ranks, the number of people you engage with on a professional level will increase dramatically. Instead of continuing to apply ad hoc methods to manage your working relationships, our mentors will guide you through the systematic process of organizing, monitoring and improving your relationships with your stakeholders. You will learn the importance of accurately identifying your stakeholders, analyzing their needs and expectations and implementing strategies to engage with them.

Successful business development involves building and nurturing relationships with potential clients, referral sources and making strategic alliances. Our mentors will work with you to develop successful business development practices which you can implement at your workplace to drive growth, including how to identify new revenue opportunities, make proactive pitches and purposefully expand institutional relationships in your chosen field.

Intermediate Professional Services (eg. Consultants, Lawyers, Engineers, Accountants) with 5 – 10 years of experience looking to move into management roles or seeking to develop their management and leadership skill sets further

As a new or existing manager, you will need a variety of skill to enable you to transition into a leadership role. Many of our Mentors who are now in leadership positions struggled through their own journeys and learnt many lessons along the way. Leverage their insights and learnings so you can achieve success quicker and become a
more impactful leader.
